Sassaia Description
100% Syrah grapes from our vineyards in Capriata D'Orba in the Monferrato region of Piedmont Italy. Ruby red in color, delicate and refined on the nose with primary hints of dark berry fruits that evoke blackberries and blueberries and secondary hints of pepper and chocolate. Its strong and round character is well explained by the attention paid to the wine-making process through manual harvesting, the careful selection of the bunches and the strict temperature control. Ages 12 months in French oak barrels maintained throughout the winter at a controlled temperature of 5 ° C in our cellar. Bottled with the waning moon to favor its predisposition to aging and following a traditional racking without filtration. Decant and serve at 15-18 ° C.
